Sergio Capuzzimati is an Italian photographer based in Hong Kong. He keenly understands how the myriad elements of urban life - from neon lights and towering buildings to digital screens and commercial signage - converge to shape our daily experiences and emotions. By employing his unique technique, he captures the intricate interplay between these technological and architectural forces, revealing the modern metropolis’s inherent beauty and unsettling complexities.

Sergio’s images, with their stunning composition, lead viewers into a world that is both familiar and profoundly disorienting. His unique perspective exposes how emotions and frustrations are transformed into an urban landscape, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy. These photographs are a powerful provocation to reconsider our place within the rapidly evolving urban experience.

Sergio has established himself as a powerful voice in contemporary photography through his work. He offers a fresh and insightful interpretation of the dynamic interplay between humans and their built environments. He has captured the essence of the modern city and challenged us to engage more deeply with the profound transformations shaping our accustomed collective experience around us.

Sergio: 'Through my photographs, I try to capture the intricate relationships between humans and their urban environments and reflect the complexities of contemporary life. I’m interested in revealing the ways in which our daily experiences are shaped by technology, architecture and commerce and how these factors can influence our emotions, desires, and anxieties.  In my shots I make large use of multiple exposure, a technique that allows to combine 2 or more photos directly in camera: with this tool I explore the beauty of our contemporary cityscapes, where neon lights, buildings, screens, shop signs, machines, interact with humans.  These shots want to be a reflection of our hopes, our fears, our frustrations, an invitation for the viewers to step into a world that is both familiar and unsettling, where reality and fantasy dissolve.'
