Under the wheel of time, the face of Hong Kong is silently but conspicuously changing. Modern high-rises are replacing traditional architecture, and rural farmlands and fishing ponds are transforming into concrete jungles.
In view of the transformation, I experience conflicting emotions. On the one hand, I understand the necessity of urban development keeping pace with the times, but on the other hand, I can’t help but feel a sense of regret for the disappearance of old heritage and places we had.
In recent years, I have started systematically capturing the various aspects of different districts through my lens, including natural and cultural landscapes. Although I started relatively late, it’s better than standing still.
Unbeknownst to me, my footsteps have already covered all the major regions of Hong Kong. I have amassed thousands of photos, encompassing iconic architecture, vintage signs and street signs, fading shops, countryside scenery, and the wonders of the sun, moon, and stars.
Through a fortunate turn of events, I have been given the opportunity to publish my photography collection. With careful selection and layout design by the editors, these photos can be shared with readers from a broader spectrum and serve as a memento of the past for the future.
