Feathers through the Lens
I have always loved photographing natural landscapes, but ten years ago, when I started capturing birds, I discovered a completely different kind of joy.
This book is not about identifying bird species. It is about sharing the real, everyday lives of birds in nature.
Through my lens, I use high-speed shutter, slow shutter, multiple exposures, and even reflections on water to explore their lovely postures from different angles.
Many bird photographers prioritise sharpness — the bird's eyes must be bright and piercing. I believe that is only part of the appreciation. A touch of blur can actually leave more room for imagination.
This book is divided into six chapters, arranged according to the birds' expressions, movements, and the environments in which they were photographed. I hope this helps readers to enter more easily into the experience.
The birds in this book were mainly photographed in Hong Kong, mainland China, Japan, and Africa. In Hong Kong, I especially enjoy visiting Mai Po Wetland and Nam Sang Wai, and occasionally Tsing Yi Park and Shing Mun River in Sha Tin.
I hope this book becomes a leisurely companion in your hands, perhaps with an afternoon cup of tea.
This is a hard copy book, 10 in x 8.5 in, 108 pages, color book with 102 beautiful birds photos. ISBN: 978-988-71131-6-4.
